The Start of It All

Having decided to post a picture of the birthday-to-be boy, I was stymied: so many options, over the years -- some innocent, some (mildly) incriminating -- which to use?

Sis Turner sent me this one, of baby Elmer and his niece Roberta. It seems fitting to start here, slightly faded, slightly out of focus, charming, nostalgic -- and holy cow! look at the forehead on that boy!
